Seonunsan
/Seonun Mountain is in the southwestern part of the Jeollabuk province. The area is known for it's green tea fields, wild berries and beautiful parks. On one of the many rock faces in Seonun Park is a Buddha which was carved into the rockwall. It has been established that the carving was done during the Guryeo Dynasty (935-1392). The carving was approximately 20 m. So it was pretty impressive. I went to the park with Brydie, her father and brother and Claire. We happened to go during the beautiful cherry blossom season, which made for an even better outing. Within the park, like most Korean parks, were a number of different temples. On the last part of the path coming back we bought some Wildberry liquor, wild berry 'hotuk' (similar to pancakes) and wild berry smothies. All were very delicious.
A temple in the park. Some sort of holiday was going on, so there a lot of lanterns.
Cherry blossoms lined the paths.
