Namhae - Fishing Village
/As per usual I've loaded these images in backwards... so keep that in mind when looking at them. Anyways, this is Namhae, a small fishing village (Daraengi Maeul) on an island off the southern coast of Korea (near Busan). This area is known for its excellent seafood and traditional style farming. I went on this trip with Addie, Claire and her two friends (Kester and Kat) visiting from Manchester. The trip was part of a tour set up by Adventure Korea (AK). I'm not big on tours but this turned out to be a really good experience. AK set us up with homestays in farmer's guest rooms. Our ajuma (Older married woman ....scroll down) was like our second mother... she was great.. and cooked some great meals for us. The main event of this trip was going deepsea fishing followed by a big campfire and relay race at an abandoned school..
Preparing fish from our deepsea fishing. We caught it, cut it up on the pier and ate it.
At the Campfire. Couldn't take pics of the relay race because I participated. After the race we drank homebrew 막걸리 maccoli (rice wine) and freshly made pajon (big pancake).
